NOTIFICATION ON THE MAIDEN EDITION OF OJUDE LASCOHET 2026

Good evening to you, sir/ma.

I write to notify you of the organization of the maiden edition of OJUDE LASCOHET 2026 by the office of the Dean of Student’s Affairs and Activities.

INTRODUCTION

OJUDE LASCOHET is conceived as a cultural, social, and community-building event inspired by the popular Ojude Oba festival. The maiden edition of Ojude LASCOHET is designed to celebrate unity, cultural heritage, alumni engagement, and institutional pride within the Lagos State College of Health Technology (LASCOHET) community.
The event will bring together students, alumni, staff, management, and external stakeholders in a festive atmosphere that promotes cultural values, wellness awareness, and positive institutional identity.

Schools who had organised OJUDE are Lagos State University OJUDE LASU, Yaba College of Technology OJUDE YABA TECH, University of Ibadan OJUDE UI, Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta OJUDE FUNAAB, Federal University of Technology Akure OJUDE FUTA, Kaduna Polytechnic OJUDE KADPOLY, among others

BACKGROUND AND RATIONALE

Lagos State College of Health Technology has a rich multicultural population drawn from various ethnic, cultural, and religious backgrounds. Despite this diversity, opportunities for large-scale cultural convergence and alumni–student interaction remain limited.

OJUDE LASCOHET seeks to:

A. Foster unity and social cohesion within the college community.
B. Strengthen alumni and college relationships.
C. Showcase cultural heritage, professionalism, and discipline.
D. Promote LASCOHET as a culturally vibrant and socially responsible institution.

AIM AND OBJECTIVES

AIM
To establish OJUDE LASCOHET as an annual cultural and social event that promotes unity, pride, and sustainable alumni engagement.

OBJECTIVES.

A. To celebrate Nigerian cultural diversity within LASCOHET.
B. To provide a platform for alumni, students, and staff interaction.
C. To enhance the corporate image and visibility of LASCOHET.
D. To encourage mentorship, networking, and institutional loyalty.
E. To promote health awareness through culturally engaging activities.

SCOPE OF ACTIVITIES

The maiden Ojude LASCOHET will feature:

A. Cultural parade by departments, alumni sets, and student associations
B. Traditional music, dance, and drumming displays
C. Cultural fashion and attire showcase
D. Health awareness booth/exhibition
E. Goodwill messages from Management, Alumni Leaders, and Invited Guests
G. Award of recognition to outstanding persons
G. Networking and social interactions
H. Horse riding and parades
I. Eyo, Agere, and Egungun masquerade display
J. Raffle draws

Time: 10 am to 7 pm (NO NIGHT PARTY)

Venue: LASCOHET Campus Grounds

A. Strengthened unity among students, alumni, and staff

C. Enhanced institutional visibility and reputation
D. Foundation laid for an annual signature LASCOHET cultural event
E. Improved student morale and sense of belonging

CONCLUSION
The maiden edition of Ojude LASCOHET represents a strategic initiative to blend culture, education, and community engagement in Lagos State College of Health Technology.
