LASCOHET ALUMNI ASSOCIATION DONATES PHARMACEUTICAL PRODUCTS TO COLLEGE CLINIC

The Executive Members of the Lagos State College of Health Technology (LASCOHET) Alumni Association have presented medical items to the College Clinic as part of their continuous support for their alma mater. The donation was made during a courtesy visit to the Management of the College.

Speaking during the visit, the President of the Alumni Association, Comrade Adesola Arole, expressed profound appreciation to the Management of LASCOHET, under the leadership of Professor Raheem Olasupo Akewushola, for the remarkable progress and developmental strides recorded in the College over the past 18 months.

Comrade Arole commended the Provost for deploying his wealth of administrative experience to reposition the institution, noting that his leadership has significantly enhanced the visibility and recognition of LASCOHET.

He described Professor Akewushola as a “number one goal getter” with an outstanding record of achievements within a short period, while also appreciating the entire Management and staff for their cooperation and support, which he said has made governance seamless.

He further expressed gratitude to the Provost for appointing members of the Alumni Association to key administrative positions within the College, citing the recent appointment of Mr. Wahab Jamiu as the Dean of Students Affairs and Activities.

According to him, this gesture reflects the recognition and value placed on LASCOHET graduates as worthy ambassadors of the institution.

In his response, the Provost of LASCOHET, Professor Raheem Akewushola, expressed delight and appreciation for the thoughtful gesture of the Alumni Association.

He commended the Association for its commitment to the growth of the College and assured that the donated medical items would be utilised judiciously for the benefit of humanity and to the glory of God.

The Provost also seized the opportunity to appreciate His Excellency, Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, for his responsiveness to the needs of the College. He acknowledged the Governor’s unwavering support and noted that his interventions have positively transformed the narrative of LASCOHET.

Professor Akewushola highlighted some recent achievements in the College, including the approval and funding of a newly constructed ICT room for software systems, the Central Clearing System with accompanying software design and hardware supply, as well as the resource assessment and establishment of the X-ray Technician Programme, all made possible through the magnanimity of Governor Sanwo-Olu.

In conclusion, the Provost charged the Alumni Association to be more proactive and deliberate in strengthening its structure. He encouraged them to update the Alumni database and mobilize members to actively engage with the College’s social media platforms, emphasising that “your network is your net worth.”
